FAQ
Here’s what every client needs to know before booking with Word of Woof.
Find clear answers to your most common questions about our dog walking services and blog topics.

Do I need to sign a contract?
Yes — all new clients are required to complete:
- A Dog Walking Contract
- A Vet Release Form (in case of emergencies)
- A Pet Info Sheet (your dog’s routine, quirks, and needs)
These forms help us get to know your dog properly, and ensure we have the legal right to act in their best interests if needed.
What does it cost?
Solo Walk: £17 per hour
Group Walk: £13 per hour
Weekly packages save you 10% when pre-booked for 3 or 5 walks (Monday to Friday only).
See our Services & Pricing page for details.
Do unused walks roll over?
No — we don’t offer rollovers.
Each dog’s slot is reserved in advance, and we limit numbers to keep walks safe and calm.
If your dog doesn’t use their slot, that time is lost — and another dog misses out.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours notice to cancel a walk.
Repeat cancellations or no-shows may lead to contract termination.
Less than 24 hours notice = walk is charged in full.
Is Barry insured?
Yes. Barry holds full public liability insurance, canine first aid training, and takes your dog’s safety seriously.
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in Falkirk and cover the surrounding areas within reason.
If you’re close but unsure, just ask.
Can I call Barry?
No — Barry’s out walking dogs and doesn’t take phone calls.
Please use our contact form, Facebook messenger, or email for the quickest response for your initial contact.
What’s your group walk policy?
Group walks are small and carefully matched — no more than 4 dogs at a time. We do not accept dogs that show aggressive or reactive behaviour in group settings.
Do you do pick-ups and drop-offs?
Yes — pick-up and drop-off are included in the price if you’re within our standard service area. We’ll agree on a key handover method when you join.
What days do you operate?
Barry walks dogs Monday to Friday only. No weekend or evening walks are available.
Can you walk puppies/elderly dogs?
Yes, but only if they’re fully vaccinated and able to manage a walk safely. We’ll discuss any special needs in your intake form.
Can someone else book for me?
Only the dog’s legal owner (or someone with authority) can sign the forms and approve walks.
What happens in bad weather?
Walks go ahead in rain or shine, unless conditions are dangerous. We towel-dry and adjust as needed.
